Averages use a physical algorithm to transform sets of photographs into one larger image built with the sum of its parts. Rather than weaving photographs, a process that obscures part of an image under another, these works are made with a mosaic-like process where hand cut individual squares are placed alongside each other. The result allows viewers to take in dozens or hundreds of portraits, landscapes, or still lives, in their entirety and at the same time.
